Charles Kuhlman Research Collection : Battle of the Little Big Horn
Charles Kuhlman (1873-1959) was a sugar beet farmer and amateur historian from Billings, Montana. Papers consist of general correspondence (1936-1959) concerning his research into the Battle of the Little Big Horn (1876) and George Armstrong Custer; drafts of his writings; miscellany; and clippings. Many of the letters also reflect his farming business and his interest in foreign policy.
Elizabeth Lochrie papers
Elizabeth Lochrie was a Butte, Montana, western artist. Collection (1916-1979) consists of correspondence, subject files, clippings, and memorabilia collected by Lochrie as source materials for her paintings.
Martin and Louise Maginnis papers
Martin Maginnis (1841-1919) was a Democratic Montana Territorial Delegate to Congress from 1872 to 1882; a member of the 1889 Montana Constitutional Convention; and newspaper publisher. Papers (1864-1912) consist primarily of incoming correspondence concerning politics; and outgoing correspondence, court papers, legal documents, and a scrapbook. Incoming correspondence includes typescript copies.
