American Flag Mine photographs
Two black and white photographic prints with views of two men identified as Murphy and Hichen along with a dog named Major at the American Flag Mine site near Elliston, Montana. First view is of both men standing on either side of an ore cart at the mine shaft opening for the American Flag Mine, Major the dog is seated on the cart. The second view is of the men sitting on either side of the door to a crude log cabin, Major the dog sits in a chair to the left.

Merchants National Bank records
The Merchants National Bank of Helena, Montana, was originally established as L.H. Hershfield and Co. in Virginia City, Montana Territory, and for many years operated as L.H. Hershfield and Bro. It went into receivership in 1897. Records (1865-1903) consist of correspondence, financial records, legal documents, and organizational materials. There are subgroups for the White Sulphur Springs Association and for the United Hebrew Benevolent Association.
Raymond B. Hieta papers, 1942-1947
This collection consists of a photograph (1942) of Raymond Bernard Hieta, a War Department Embarkation Army Post Office Form (1943), Hieta’s undated Army Class “A” Pass, an undated Egyptian postage stamp and Japanese military ephemera, and a postcard (1947) from Hieta to his mother Anna. Biographical materials compiled by the processing archivist are also included in the collection.
