George A. Bruffey papers
George Bruffey (1842-1928) was a Livingston, Montana, rancher, Fish Creek general mercantile store owner, and Butte miner. His papers (1863-1928) include business records (1871-1889) for the George A. Bruffey Mercantile Company, and the Fish Creek Stage Station. Also included are drafts of his autobiography, Eighty-one Years in the West; diaries and writings; and miscellaneous correspondence.

Simeon R. Buford papers
Simeon R. Buford was a Virginia City, Montana, merchant, stage line operator, and rancher. Papers include incoming correspondence (1872-1911) and outgoing correspondence (1878-1906) concerning his various business enterprises, and with family and friends. In addition, there are financial records (1872-1912), legal documents (1879-1903), and other records. There are subgroups for Buford's political activities (1886-1904), for his brother C.H. Buford (1884-1909).
Virginia S. Burlingame papers
This collection consists of manuscripts and research notes by Virginia S. Burlingame concerning Johnny Healy, his life and family, mining around Florence, Idaho Territory, in the 1860s, Fort Whoop-Up and the whiskey trade, Fort Benton, Montana Territory, the Klondike gold rush and mining in Alaska; and a manuscript entitled "John Barr, River Pilot" by John Linton Struble (Virginia S. Burlingame's pen name).
Henry Burrell papers
Henry Burrell was a Sand Coulee and Carbonado, Montana, coal mine investor and owner. He was also affiliated with the American Developing and Mining Company of Marysville and Butte. This collection (1890-1905; undated) includes correspondence, legal documents, mine reports, maps, financial materials, and a portrait of Henry Burrell.
Buskett Mercantile Company records
The Buskett Mercantile Company, located in a Granite, Montana, was a general mercantile firm, and supplied wood and merchandise to the Granite Mountain Mining Company. Collection includes outgoing letterpress book (1887-1888) and incoming correspondence (1888) from the Granite Mountains Mining Company (1888). Also included are a report on the Penn Yan Mine (May 22, 1888).
