This collection consists of photographs of railroads in Montana including construction sites and work crews; locomotive engines, freight cars, passenger cars, and stock cars; track lines, bridges, tunnels, and rail yard facilities; train wrecks; trains in snow; and special events like last spike and first train ceremonies.

Adelaide Staves Reeder papers
Adelaide Reeder was a Helena, Montana, teacher and suffragist. This collection (1882-1902) consists of general correspondence, miscellany, and two scrapbooks of clippings, one dealing with her own life; and one consisting of articles written by her brother-in-law P.W. Reeder concerning prohibition, foreign travels, crossing the plains, the California gold rush, and the annexation of Hawaii.
Irma Brown Reeder papers
Irma Reeder was a Big Sandy, Montana, schoolteacher. She later moved to Livingston where she owned and operated a motel. This collection consists of 13 of her diaries (1927-1963). There are also a diary (1930-1932) kept by S. Eugene Reeder while in Russia as a tractor expert; a letters; cards; programs; and clippings.
Gotfried I. Reiche papers
Gotfried Reiche (1848-1940) served as a drummer boy in the Civil War. In 1916 he was elected commander of the Montana Department of the Grand Army of the Republic, and in 1933 custodian of its records. He was appointed to the Board of Managers of the Montana Soldier's Home in 1932. This collection (1894-1953) consists of incoming correspondence, financial records, clippings, and miscellany of Gotfried I. Reiche and his wife Lena Reiche.
