Abstract This collection contains several geological surveys that took place in the Jardine-Crevasse Mountain District and Mineral Hill area. Mineral Hill Mine, located just north of Yellowstone, was mined primarily for gold and arsenic from 1923 to 1948, when operations stopped until 1988. Between 1988 and 1996, TVX Gold and other companies conducted various development and drilling projects at the mine. First National Bank Of Helena Records

Abstract

The First National Bank of Helena, Montana, was organized by Samuel T. Hauser and T.H. Kleinschmidt, in 1866. Prominent officers included: John S. Atkinson, D.C. Corbin, and E.W. Knight, cashiers; George H. Hill, assistant cashier. The bank was in receivership from its closing in 1896 until 1903. Records (1865-1903) include correspondence, financial volumes, legal documents, and organizational records of the bank and of its receiver, Eugene S. Wilson.

Kate Fogarty was a Montana author and assistant librarian at the Butte, Public Library. Her papers consist of research notes on the history of the Summit Valley Mining District, Montana Territory, including the names of mines of the district, date of location, and names of locators and owners. Also included are writings on the history of Butte, the Highland Mining District, and on a visit to the site of Fort Union.
