Lloyd Skinner's Hebgen Lake Earthquake photographs
Content Description
15 black and white photographic prints with views of Earthquake Lake (Quake Lake), one before and the rest after the Hebgen Lake Earthquake of 1959. The first photograph shows a fisherman on the Madison River with a mountain in the background before the earthquake, taken by the Montana Power Company. The subsequent 14 photographs show views of the landslide and damage after the earthquake, taken by Lloyd Skinner of Ennis, Montana. Views include aerials of the landslide, Quake Lake, the fault line, Cabin Creek campground, Hebgen Lake, Hebgen Dam, and Highway 287. Detailed descriptions of each image available with prints.
