Abstract

Edmund Craney was a pioneer in Montana radio broadcasting. He was affiliated with Pacific Northwest Broadcasting; XL radio stations of Spokane, Portland, Butte, Bozeman, and Missoula; and the Z Bar network. This collection (1920-1970) consists of correspondence, financial records, subject files, printed materials, yearbooks, clippings, and legal documents.

Abstract Lee Metcalf (1911-1978) served as U.S. Congressman from Montana from 1952 to 1961 and as U.S. Senator from 1961 until his death in 1978. The papers reflect Metcalf's wide range of interests, but especially reflect his involvement in public utilities regulation and protection of the natural environment. The Montana Cattlemen's Association is an beef cattle ranchers' organization. Collection (1957-1980) includes correspondence (1958-1980), subject files (1957-1981), organizational records and membership materials (1957-1980), financial records (1972-1978), newsletters, printed materials, and clippings.
