Ernest Calvin Baxter papers
Ernest Calvin Baxter was a Twodot and Harlowton, Montana, banker, ranch investor and businessman who served in the state legislature, 1913-1917. This collection (1911-1948) includes correspondence, financial records, legal documents, court papers and subject files from Baxters' business interests in the Bank of Wheatland County, Twodot Land and Livestock Company, and Consumers' Oil Company.

Discusses family journey from Washington Territory in 1886 in a covered wagon to ranch in the Big Hole Basin. Discusses harvesting hay, attending school, starting her own family, raising cattle.

Peter J. Meloy papers
Peter J. Meloy (1869-1953) was a Townsend, Montana, businessman and one of the founders of Broadwater County. Papers (1892-1927) include business and personal papers, including correspondence; records of his retail lumber business; files on the Grayson Creek Ranch and swine breeding; and a Broadwater County non-resident tax roll (1919).
Miller Brothers, Inc. Records
Miller Brothers, Inc. was a Chinook, Cleveland, and Lloyd, Montana, sheep and cattle ranch operated by Henry G. Miller, his brother Chris D. Miller, and G.T. "Ted" Westin, son-in-law of Chris Miller. Records (1894-1966) include general correspondence, court papers, legal documents, and financial records documenting the operation of the ranch; and materials on the First National Bank of Chinook, which the Millers helped organize in 1909.
John T. Murphy Papers
John T. Murphy (1842-1914) was a Helena, Montana, merchant, rancher, banker, and mine investor. Collection (1865-1935) includes correspondence, financial records, legal documents and other material of Murphy, the Murphy Estate, and various companies he founded, including the Powder River Land and Cattle Company, Montana Cattle Company (Seventy-Nine Ranch), and the Murphy-Maclay Hardware Company.
William M. Nichols papers
William M. Nichols was president of the Yellowstone Park Company, the H.C. Child Corporation, the Spanish Creek Ranch, and other enterprises. Papers include general correspondence (1946-1957); financial records; minutes of the Yellowstone Park Company (1955-1962); and an extensive subject file (1914-1966) maintained both by Nichols and by his son John Q. Nichols, concerning the various corporate and financial affairs of the Nichols and Child families.
