The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization. Records (1921-1989) of the Montana branch include general correspondence arranged by president; financial records; minutes; organizational materials; reports to the national office; subject files; miscellany; and clippings. There are also records for local branches of the League around the state.

These records of the Montana Attorney General's Office consist of general correspondence (1905-1920); subject files (1900-1962); informal opinions (1897-1915); docket registers (1893-1963); docketed and undocketed case files (1902-1968); financial ledgers (1905-1969); and an abstract register (1921-1941). These records of the Department of Institutions include correspondence (1964-1991), case files (1983-1986), grant files (1985-1989), financial records (1984-1985), reports (1963-1989), and subject files (1963-1988) from the Director's office.

Records of the Governors of Montana consist of legislative files (1893-1935), including correspondence, bills, vetos, governors messages, petitions, etc.; general correspondence (1902-1962) for individual administrations; and subject files (1889-1962) arranged by state agency and topic.

The Montana Governors collection consists of general correspondence (1889-1905) of Joseph K. Toole, J.E. Rickards, and Robert B. Smith; and speeches by Joseph K. Toole.
