Hubert Alfred Simmons papers
Hubert Simmons (1881-1967) was a Red Lodge, Montana, attorney, state legislator, and coal mine owner. Papers consist of five subgroups: Simmons' personal papers (1906-1967); Eagle Coal Company records (1918-1947); Owl Mining Company records (1930-1958); W.B. Innes and Company records (1919-1930); and Western States Coal Company records (1917-1927).
Tilton Family photograph collection
This collection contains photographs collected by the Tilton Family of Montana. Photographs include: family members; the family ranch near Sheridan, Montana; and the stores Daniel Webster Tilton owned with his father-in-law in Virginia City, Montana and Butte, Montana. The collection also has a number of interesting images of Alaska and several mines in Butte, Montana.
Clarence P. and Harriet W. Tooley papers
Clarence Tooley (1873-1918) was a Harlowton and Two Dot, Montana, banker, ranch investor, real estate and insurance agent. Collection (1884-1950) includes correspondence, financial records, and subject files for the Bank of Wheatland County; the Two Dot Land and Livestock Company; Tooley, Baxter and Tice Bankers; and the Golden Valley Land Company. His wife Harriet Waldorf Tooley (1877-1955) continued to operate the businesses after his death in 1918.
Triangle Mining and Development Company records
The records of this early twentieth century Missoula, Montana mining company (1906-1923) consist of correspondence, employment, financial, legal and organizational records; minutes; and reports and print material. Also included are personal papers (1898-1922) of individuals associated with the company, and organizational records (1901-1950) of a variety of other companies. The company's mines were located in the Wallace Mining District.
Trout Mining Company records
The Trout Mining Company produced manganese oxide for batteries. Records consist of scattered correspondence (1939-1951); payroll records (1956-1959), orders for equipment and supplies (1946-1953); production records, including a sample book (1958) for the Blaine Mine; reports; and miscellany, including field survey books (1936-1938).
William Fletcher Wheeler papers
William Wheeler (1824-1894) served as U.S. Marshal and as Montana Historical Society Librarian in Helena, Montana. Papers consist of outgoing correspondence (1859-1860, 1869-1871), including discussion of problems of Montana Territorial law enforcement; and biographical writings on Montana pioneers. Norman Winestine Collection: Congregation Emanu-El And Fligelman's
Norman Winestine (1895-1986) was a Helena, Montana, clothing store owner and member of the Jewish Congregation Emanu-El. Collection is divided into two main subgroups: records (1889-1947) of Congregation Emanu-El include correspondence, financial records, organizational materials, reports, Ladies Auxiliary records and cemetery association records; records (1883-1953) of Fligelman's Store include correspondence, financial records, and miscellany.
Yellowstone Park Company Records
Collection consists of the organizational and financial records of the Yellowstone Park Company, a major park concessionaire, as well as those of several predecessor companies, including Yellowstone Park Camping Co., Yellowstone Park Boat Co., Yellowstone Park Association, and the Wylie Permanent Camping Co.
