The Fisk Family gained prominence in Montana as emigrant guides and prominent newspapermen. Collection consists of correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, and photographs. Topics presented include the Civil War, the Fisk expeditions of the 1860s, newspaper publishing in Helena, Montana, local politics, and pioneer life.

Charles Greefield was a Helena, Montana, journalist. This collection (1807-1975) consists of personal, business, and political materials of the Greenfield family. Subgroups include papers for Charles D. Greenfield, Jr., Marguerite Greenfield, Charles D. Greenfield, Sr., Anna Elizabeth Nelson Greenfield, and Marietta McBrine Greenfield.

These U.S. Federal Power Commission records consist of hearing materials in a case involving the failure of the Montana Power Company to apply for a license to operate its hydroelectric dams on the Missouri River and tributaries. Exhibits in the case (including steamboat logs, diaries, articles, clippings, etc.) sought to document whether the Missouri River was navigable above Fort Benton. [FPC Docket #IT-5840.]
