Records of the Helena City Clerk consist primarily of records filed with the clerk, not records produced by the clerk. Incoming correspondence (1884-1918) is filed by year. Within each year the correspondence is separated into "communications" (complaints, information, informal requests, etc.) and "petitions" (formal requests for specific action).
