Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection is a subgroup (Former Study) of the Montana Office of the Governor records. The Montana Indian Historical Jusisdiction Study came about in 1977 when the Montana Governor's Office contracted with the Historical Research Associates (HRA) of Missoula, Montana, to conduct research into treaties, statutes, and executive orders affecting Montana reservations.
