Abstract
In this interview Gene Etchart is asked to discuss his family's sheep operations in Nevada and Montana; growing up on the family ranch near Glasgow; factors that pushed many cattlemen to sheep ranching; effect of homesteading on cattle ranching; impact of New Deal policies on sheep industry; the impact of drought of the 1930s on grazing; grazing legislation on the federal and state levels; and his interest and experiences in aviation.
