A sampling of the Notice of Sales of State Lands, notifications published in local newspapers that state lands were up for sale. Also included in this collection are correspondence, purchaser information, maps, lists of owners and renters, and some legal documents. The Correspondence demonstrates the communication between applicants and the Department, including inquiries on costs, the application and bid process, and concerns regarding the sale of state lands. Some applications were kept in the files to illustrate the application process, and the majority of Notifications were kept to indicate the types and locations of state lands, the process of advertising lands sales, and the process of selling land (in full, partial, the application and purchasing process).
