Summary
In this interview Lewistown residents Frank Sipple Smith and Isabelle MacKenzie Smith describe their memories and experiences as students in the Lewistown public schools. Frank also discusses Smith and Sipple family history, including a brief history of Sipple and Glengarry, Montana. He describes homesteading and the history of ranches and homesteads in the Snowy Mountains area of Montana, as well as the residents and general history of Lewistown. Isabelle also describes her early history in Coffee Creek and the residents, ranches and businesses there. their early memories and experiences in Lewistown, Montana, including their work, local residents and customs, homesteading and ranching, organations and businesses, and with an emphasis on education and the local schools.
