Summary

This collection consists of two sets of audio recordings (c1996) produced by C. Howard McDonald, of Big M Broadcast Services, concerning the history of radio broadcasting in Montana, including discussions of changes in technology, pioneering radio stations, and leading personalities in the field. The recordings include "Voices in the Big Sky: the History of Montana Broadcasting", an audio version of McDonald's book by the same title [RESTRICTION: for research use only, permission of donor required for copying or publication]. Also included is "There was a fellow by the name of Craney: Edmund B. Craney, Montana pioneer broadcaster", an audio interview with Ed Craney by McDonald in which Craney reminisces about his career in radio broadcasting from the 1920s to the 1980s. (OH 1737).
