Historical Note

Victoria Mines Inc. was incorporated in March 1937. In 1940 the company was headed by John T. Potts of Salt Lake City, with Sherman H. Hinckley as local manager. The company operated several gold mines in the Silver Star area, including the Broadway, Hudson, and Victoria claims, as well as leasing the Buckeye. The company also built a cyanide plant.

Victoria Mines, Inc., operated gold mines and a cyanide plant near Silver Star, Montana. Records include a ledger (February-June 1945) detailing daily mine production; two check registers (1937, 1940); two receipt books (1940, 1944); and three oversized Payroll and time ledgers (1938-1947).
