Abstract
This collection (1904-1953) consists of one volume (1904-1944) tracking fire and miscellaneous claims incurred by the GNRWC from trains that ran across the Montana Hi-Line. Includes names of claimants, dates, locations, damage incurred, and payout totals. In addition there are also two folders of interoffice correspondence (1920-1923) concerning the day to day business of the railway for the Kalispell Division, which appers to have been from about Browning to Troy in northwest Montana. Also includes subject files (1938-1953) consisting of correspondence and legal documents relating to the lease of a portion of the Great Northern depot in Helena, Montana, to the Helena Chamber of Commerce for use as a tourist center and museum.
