Biographical / Historical
Born June 22, 1922, in a log cabin in Mosby, Montana on her mother's homestead she was the daughter of Lena Kleiman Alexander Dilley and Volney Michael Alexander. Mrs. Bangiola attended school in Moore, Montana, and was her High School Valedictorian. She received her R.N. degree from St. Joseph's school of Nursing in Lewistown, Montana and entered the World War II Army Nurse Corps with posts in Denver, Colorado, Phoenix, Arizona and Yuma, Arizona. She was discharged from the service in Amarillo, Texas at war's end having attained the rank of First Lieutenant. In 1946, she married Paul Bangiola, and they both attended Rutgers University under the GI bill of rights. In 1952, the family moved to Morris Plains, NJ where they resided for 46 years.
