Fannie Sperry Steele papers
Content Description
Fanny Sperry Steele papers (ca. 1900 – 1970s). Collection includes correspondence, diaries (1926-1973, undated), financial records, membership records, printed material, school notes/records, and news clippings relating to Fanny’s involvement in her family ranch, bronc riding and rodeoing in North America, the wild west show she and her husband ran, as well as their outfitting business and dude ranch. Collection also includes extensive amount of photographs of the Sperry and Hilger family as well as ephemera and 3D objects related to the rodeo events Fanny participated and attended throughout her life. Also included are the Dan Hilger papers (1953-1986) which include diaries kept by Dan from 1953 to 1986. Photographs and artifacts to be offered to photo archives and museum respectfully.
