Content Description

Collection includes 2 photograph albums and 7 photographic prints with 7 corresponding negatives. The first photograph album belonged to Willard Kirkham Capps Byam with later additions by her daughter, Mydas Capps Zieg, and possibly other family members, 101 pages with 236 photographic prints. Subjects include family and friends, including many photographs of Mydas Capps as a child and the extended Kirkham family. The album also includes some newspaper articles, memorial cards, and correspondence. The second album belonged to Mydas Capps Zieg and possibly had others contribute, it has 196 pages with 661 photographic prints. Subjects include Mydas Capps as a child, during college, her marriage to Reuben Zieg, and her children and grandchildren. Views include: Mydas Capps' childhood homes in New Mexico and California, her time at the University of California Berkeley; her time teaching in Rapelje, Montana; and Mydas and Reuben Zieg with family in Missoula, Montana. Loose photographs include three women in graduation caps and gowns as well as various views of the Mydas and Reuben Zieg family.
