Content Description

1 photograph album with 214 black and white photographic prints. The album likely belonged to Andrew Andersen of Buffalo, North Dakota and Havre, Montana. It includes many photographs of his family, including his mother, Agnes Kidd Andersen, his father, Jens Andersen, as well as the Jespersen family of Buffalo, North Dakota who employed Jens Andersen at their "Good Hope Farm." Agnes Kidd emigrated from Ireland in 1909 and Jens Andersen emigrated from Denmark in 1895; the couple married in 1914 and homesteaded in Havre, Montana where Andrew was born in 1915. The album also includes: views of Agnes Kidd and her extended family in Ireland; threshing crews working in Canada and North Dakota, 1910s-1920s; the Andersen homestead in Havre, Montana, 1910s; Andrew Andersen's school photos, 1920s; Jens Andersen's extended family; oil wells, likely in Canada, 1920s; information about the Andersen family including death and birth dates; and condolence cards sent after Agnes (Andersen) Hedrick's death in 1951. Jens Andersen died in an accident at the Jespersen farm on September 24, 1924 and Agnes married Daniel Hedrick in 1931.
