All prints have a description on verso: "Jefferson National Forest - Smith River Dist., Lodge Pole Pine Country, Head Tenderfoot Creek, Montana"; "Freeze up on Smith River, Jefferson National Forest"; "Chambers Ranch, Tenderfoot Creek, Montana"; "Smith River, Little Belt Mountains, Millegan, Montana"; "Bessie and Marie en route to Kings Hill Ranger Station Ranger Meeting, 1914"; "Mumbrael Ranch - Sheep Creek, Jefferson National Forest, Montana"; "Smith River Ranger Station, Smith River Canyon, Montana, 1913"; "Smith River, Montana, April 1915, near Milligan Ranger Station"; "Smith River Canyon, Jefferson National Forest, Montana"; "Smith River Canyon, Montana"; "Fort Logan Country, Montana"; and "Lupines, Deep Creek Park, Jefferson National Park". It is possible that the photographer was a forest ranger.
