This collection is a sub-subgroup (Bureau) of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation records, RS 496. The Planning and Analysis Bureau (defunct) formerly operated within the Energy Division (defunct, responsibilities transferred to the Department of Environmental Quality). This collection is composed of correspondence and subject files. Correspondence is from members of the Planning and Analysis Bureau. Subject files primarily include information on the Energy Supply Emergency Powers Act, the 1979 Fuel Shortage, and the Salem Coal-Fired Power Plant Project. Both the correspondence and the subject files in this collection are primarily concerned with energy planning for the state of Montana.
