This collection is a sub-subgroup under the Montana Department of Transportations records, RS 492. The Photogrammetry and Survey Section primarily took aerial photography of Interstates 90, 94, 15, and routes around major Montana cities. The images, surveys, and reports identified locations, topography, rest areas, pits, and structures for use in design of projects and mapping. The section also produced aerial photographic records of slide areas, as well as Highways land involved in litigation. The files are primarily project—or route—related aerial photographs, along with monitoring reports, level notes, and some correspondence.
