Scope and Contents
This collection is a subgroup (Predecessor Agency) of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services records. In 1937, the Montana Relief Commission merged with various other State Boards and Divisions to form the new Montana Department of Public Welfare. The Department of Public Welfare dissolved in 1971 and was replaced with the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS). In 1995, SRS merged with parts of the Department of Health and Environmental Sciences to form the Department of Public Health and Human Services. Please see the primary finding aid for more

This collection consists of interoffice correspondence regarding earthquake fund allocations; financial records, including emergency fund transmittals, auditors reports, and daily reports; and miscellany, including a list of personnel of the County Emergency Relief Committee.
