Scope and Contents
This collection documents the activities of noted Helena, Montana artist and historian, Robert F. Morgan (1929-2015). Materials include awards & certificates (1948-2006, undated) detailing Morgan’s military service and his contributions to cultural institutions in Montana. Correspondence (1980-2008) describes Morgan’s work as an art consultant and appraiser, as well as his service on the Montana Historical Society Board of Trustees. Also included are photographic material (1866-2011, undated) documenting Morgan’s research, personal life, and his career as an artist. Subject files (1993-2005, undated) contain Morgan’s practice sketches and clippings. Materials also include writings (2007) containing a draft of Morgan’s autobiographical work, "Bob Morgan’s Montana." Materials are largely visual, comprising of photographic prints, transparency slides, and safety negatives.
