The records for the Montana Women's Lobby contain general correspondence (1982-1993) between MWL staff and members regarding meetings and events; financial records (1982-1990) regarding fundraising efforts and grant proposals; legal records (1986) containing agreements with staff lobbyists; minutes (1982-2014) for the board of directors, various subcommittee and the annual meetings; organizational records (1983-2000) including membership records, phone trees, personnel job descriptions; press releases (1982-1987); printed materials (1982-1993) including "From the Hill" and "WLF News" newsletters; and speeches (1987, undated) The majority of the records consist of legislative files, subject files and clippings files, all of which were created as research resources used to determine issues and positions advocated by MWL. Legislative files (1983-1995) are organized by legislative session, and then legislative bill number. They include copies of the bills, notes, exhibits, voting records and miscellany. Subject files (1982-1994) are arranged alphabetically by topic, and include clippings, reading materials, speeches, and miscellany on the topic gathered over several years. Clippings files (1982-1991) arranged alphabetically by subject. These topics may not have been addressed by the MWL, but they reflect the groups attempts to keep up on women's groups and issues around the country.
