Papers. 1928-1981. 1.25 linear feet. This collection is divided into eight series. The biographical material (1965-1971) consists of Hugh Adair's membership cards for various organizations. The campaign materials (1932-1974, undated) consists of Albert and Hugh Adair's campaign literature and notes as well as campaign literature for many Montana candidates for local, state, and national offices; most of the candidates belong to the Democratic Party. The general correspondence (1941-1968) contains miscellaneous correspondence of Albert and Hugh Adair primarily concerning politics; there is one letter to Genevieve Adair. The photographs are largely of Hugh Adair and other judges, and Montana state liquor stores. The speeches (1936-1950, undated) include speeches of Hugh Adair, to civic groups and the Democratic Party. The subject files (1932-1974, undated) include information on the Montana and national Democratic Parties, the Montana Liquor Control Board, and discontinuance of rail passenger service to Helena. The miscellany (1936-1981, undated) contains material related to Hugh Adair, Montana politics, the Association of Montana Judges minutes, etc. The clippings (1928-1972) relate to Albert and Hugh Adair's political careers. Artifacts have been transferred to the Museum.
