This collection consists primarily of research notes on Montana history copied from a wide variety of published materials. The majority of these notes are contained in looseleaf notebooks #1-35. Also included in collection are newspaper clippings, history articles, and research data and writings. In addition to the numbered notebooks, Peet also maintained other notebooks containing biographies, chronologies of events, and miscellaneous topics. The best organized material is the Samuel T. Hauser research subgroup, which includes Peet's unpublished manuscript and meticulous notes on every facet of Hauser's life.
